The Client was feeling pressured with choosing selections for her cabin build on Grand Lake, which the couple was self-contracting. After a chance encounter in a builder store while working with another Client, she hired me to help her with a literal floor to ceiling build: flooring, cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, countertops, walls, window, doors…everything needed to be priced, acquired, and executed. It took eight months, multiple Client meetings, countless revisits to decisions, approvals, and revisions. I redesigned the entire kitchen, pantry, perimeter, peninsula, and mud room for better utilization of flow and function in the space; the mud room was moved to the garage entry and I created a butler's pantry instead that was much more useful and aesthetically beautiful. The results were spectacular, the Client was over the moon, and budgets were met without issue. Her retirement dream home/family hang-out on the lake was completed in 2017.
